You can use social media to donate your birthday, celebrate your favorite holiday, or join in on the efforts to spread awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Below are instructions on how to create fundraisers on Facebook and Instagram. You can find social media graphics to promote your fundraiser on our Promotional tools page.

How to start a fundraiser on Facebook

On mobile

  1. Open the Facebook app
  2. Start a post
  3. Scroll down and select Raise money
  4. Type "Living Beyond Breast Cancer" in the search bar and select it from the dropdown menu
  5. Click Continue
  6. Complete your post with why you are raising money for LBBC and then click Post

On desktop

  1. Log in to Facebook.com
  2. On the left, click the fundraiser heart coin Fundraisers.
  3. Click on the search (magnifying glass) icon
  4. Type "Living Beyond Breast Cancer" in the search bar and select it from the dropdown menu
  5. On the left, enter:
    • The goal amount of money you want to raise
    • The currency you want the funds to be in
    • An end date for your fundraiser
    • Give your fundraiser a title
    • Share why you're fundraising for LBBC
    • You can change the cover image if you'd like.
  6. Click Create

You’ll see a screen pop up where you can invite your friends to donate to your fundraiser, share your fundraiser in your feed, or donate to the fundraiser yourself.

Tip: Thank your donors by tagging them in posts, share your posts to your stories, and get your friends to interact with your posts. This will boost your fundraiser's visibility and spread your message further. Don't forget to make it public!

How to start a fundraiser on Instagram

On mobile (Android)

  1. Tap + at the bottom of your screen or swipe right anywhere in your feed.
  2. Create or choose your image and tap Next.
  3. Crop and filter your post, and then tap Next.
  4. Tap Add fundraiser.
  5. Select the nonprofit you want to fundraise for. Tap Edit fundraiser go to the “Fundraiser Details” page.
  6. Enter the details for your fundraiser and then tap Done.
  7. Tap Share.

On mobile (iPhone)

  1. Tap + at the bottom of your screen or swipe right anywhere in your feed.
  2. Create or choose your image and tap Next.
  3. Crop and filter your post, and then tap Next.
  4. Tap Add fundraiser.
  5. Select the nonprofit you want to fundraise for. Tap Edit fundraiser go to the “Fundraiser Details” page.
  6. Enter the details for your fundraiser and then tap Done.
  7. Tap Share.
