general_content

Her commitment is deeply personal, originating from the loss of her grandmother to the disease in 2016—a loss that not only heightens her empathy but also echoes the experiences of countless others affected by this illness. As the director of outreach, Theresa is devoted to improving the support systems and resources available to those impacted by breast cancer.

Her career includes pivotal roles such as National Breast Cancer Roundtable (NBCRT) program manager at the American Cancer Society, where she led strategic initiatives and fostered crucial partnerships to ensure effective program execution. At the Michigan Primary Care Association, Theresa launched initiatives to promote breast cancer screening and genetic testing in underserved communities. Additionally, her tenure at the Ohio Department of Health involved managing child fatality review projects and spearheading maternal health programs at the community level.

Theresa holds a Master of Arts in health and risk communication and a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from Michigan State University. Based in Michigan with her husband, son, and dog, Theresa enjoys travel, baking sourdough bread, and reading.

The most inspiring part of my job is hearing the stories of strength, hope, and resilience of those impacted by breast cancer.
