Highlights
- Survivorship Series Program Leader, 2023
- Rhinebeck, New York
Alecia recently embarked on her journey as a nurse navigator for breast surgery after having been a clinical nurse for 30 years. She began her career as an RN on a medical surgical unit and then transitioned to a critical care/cardio thoracic ICU. She then spent 17 years in the radiology department where she successfully implemented best care practices with breast biopsy patients and helmed her hospital’s cardiac catheterization program.
Working with breast cancer patients has always been Alecia’s passion, with a particular enjoyment in teaching procedurals for her radiology department. She feels this experience allows her to fully implement her knowledge in ways that benefit her patients. As a nurse navigator, Alecia is hyper-aware that she sees patients at their most vulnerable states and finds that she is truly grateful to be able to help them through difficult times.
Alecia has been married for 29 happy years and has two grown children. She loves to spend time laughing with family during ‘family fun night’, playing basketball, and vacationing.
