Julian Sanchez, MD, is a colorectal surgeon and the section chief of colorectal oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. He is an associate professor of surgery and oncology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.
Dr. Sanchez specializes in surgical care and prevention of colorectal and anal cancers, and he oversees the anal dysplasia program and the LGBTQ+ cancer program. His research focuses on health disparities and cancer screening programs among sexual and gender minority and Latinx patients, for which he has received several funded research grants.
Dr. Sanchez is a member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, and a board member of the International Anal Neoplasia Society. He serves on the National Comprehensive Cancer Network panel for cancer in patients with HIV and on the Colorectal Committee for the Society of Surgical Oncology.
