Dr. Bray speaks frequently for cancer organizations and at healthcare conferences and symposia throughout the U.S. She has been leading writing workshops for people who have experienced cancer for over 13 years. She has led workshops at Breast Cancer Connections at Palo Alto, the Stanford Cancer Center, Scripps Green and UCSD Moores Cancer Center.

In addition, Dr. Bray leads the writers workshop at Stanford Medical School, a series of writing workshops for medical school faculty, students and alumni. She teaches “Writing as a Healing Ministry” for the Pacific School of Religion summer session in Berkeley, California, and is an instructor for the UCLA extension Writer’s Program.

Her most recent books, When Words Heal: Writing Through Cancer (North Atlantic/Frog Books, 2006) and A Healing Journey: Writing Together through Breast Cancer (Amherst Writers & Artists Press, 2004) document the healing power of writing. She also writes and maintains her own weekly writing blog, www.writingthroughcancer.com.
