He was the associate chairman of the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP) from 1995 to 2014, when the NSABP, the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG), and the Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) merged to form NRG.
