Dr. Euhus has been a faculty member at U.T. Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas since 1996. He is director of the Mary L. Brown Breast Cancer Genetics and Risk Assessment Clinic in the U.T. Southwestern Center for Breast Care and the medical director of clinical cancer genetics. He is the recipient of The Marilyn R. Corrigan Distinguished Chair in Breast Cancer Surgery.
Dr. Euhus graduated from St. Louis University Medical School. He performed an internship, surgical residency and surgical oncology fellowship at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif. He then served as a surgical oncologist in the U.S. Army for five years, with his last assignment at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Dr. Euhus’ research interests are in breast cancer risk measurement and prevention. He is also the author of the popular CancerGene software program, which is used for genetic risk assessment in more than 4,000 cancer centers worldwide. His federally-funded laboratory investigates molecular markers of breast cancer risk in benign breast tissue.
