Lauren is a former attorney and now a stay-at-home mom and a professional cancer patient. Since being diagnosed de novo with metastatic breast cancer (MBC) in 2022, Lauren has channeled her skills into community engagement, research, and legislative advocacy, with a particular focus on MBC in younger populations and in the LGBTQIA community.
She has a juris doctor in law and bachelor’s degrees in women’s studies and psychology. Lauren’s professional career includes work as a public defender and as a civil rights attorney, and experience in community organizing and activism.
She enjoys live music, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family, particularly her wife and son.
When I was first diagnosed, I felt completely alone and overwhelmed, and I had virtually no knowledge of, or experience with, MBC. I hope that, in my work with LBBC, I can make a difference in helping others in similar circumstances to feel less alone and to help empower them with information and knowledge.
