Marni is a visual thinker, attracted to nature and landscapes. She is working to create visual images to illustrate the importance of early health and wellness to minimize cancer risk factors, especially for young women. She is working to bring awareness of invasive lobular breast cancer to specialists like gastroenterologists and rheumatologists. She seeks to educate and effectively bring change to screening processes. She is a certified K-12 art teacher and has worked in public/special education for over 20 years. She also manages a soup kitchen garden and, along with growing the produce, she coordinates volunteers and deliveries to local organizations servicing the needs of community members experiencing food insecurity. She finds joy everywhere, in everyone!
I hope that my work with LBBC will bring both broad awareness to what invasive lobular breast cancer is and its unusual growth patterns and metastatic sites, making early detection difficult. I also intend to help influence young women to have a vested interest in actively creating a healthy, balanced internal biome.
