Casey Liening
Patient Advocate, Florida
Highlights
- 2024 Young Advocate
- 2025 Conference on Metastatic Breast Cancer advisory committee member
Casey Liening is a 33-year-old living with metastatic breast cancer. She was diagnosed in May 2023 with ER/PR-positive, HER2-negative invasive ductal carcinoma that had already metastasized to several bones. She is currently undergoing treatment, including a targeted therapy CDK 4/6 inhibitor and hormone/ovarian suppression therapy.
Casey is passionate about advocacy within the cancer community, driven by her experience of being diagnosed at a young age after her concerns were dismissed by multiple doctors. She advocates to raise awareness and to ensure others do not face the same challenges in seeking a diagnosis.
Outside of the cancer center and her advocacy work, Casey balances her full-time career as a spokesperson for a municipal police department. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two cats, reading, and taking afternoon walks.
I hope my story will encourage others to take control of their health starting at a young age and to live a fulfilling life.
