Massimo Cristofanilli, MD, FACP

Massimo Cristofanilli, MD, FACP, is chair of medical oncology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center. He oversees all breast cancer care in the women’s cancer center, and he co-directs the women’s cancer research program. In his practice, Dr. Cristofanilli specializes in treating patients with locally advanced and inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) as well as metastatic breast cancer.

Dr. Cristofanilli focuses on a broad range of translational research on breast cancer. His interests include the use of molecular targeted agents in imaging and therapeutics; the study of breast cancer stem cells; the delivery of gene therapies to local and regional recurrences of breast cancer; and the usefulness of monitoring, capturing and studying circulating tumor cells in managing inflammatory breast cancer.
