Clifford A. Hudis, MD, of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) and Weill Medical College of Cornell University, discussed breaking news from the conference that is considered the premier educational and scientific event in the oncology community. Dr. Hudis, a member of LBBC’s Medical Advisory Board, covered:

  • Novel treatments for women with BRCA gene mutations
  • News on neoadjuvant (pre-surgical) clinical trials
  • Fertility preservation in pre-menopausal women
  • Treatments for triple-negative breast cancer
  • Updates on hormonal and targeted therapies
  • Managing advanced (metastatic) breast cancer
  • Quality-of-life and supportive care issues

About Our Speaker

Dr. Hudis is the chief of the Breast Cancer Medicine Service and an attending physician at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). He is an associate professor of medicine at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He is co-leader of the Breast Disease Management Team at MSKCC, co-chair of the Breast Committee of the Cancer and Leukemia Group B (CALGB) and chair of the Information Technology Committee of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Dr. Hudis’s research interests include chemotherapy development, hormone therapy, new targeted medicines and supportive care. He has focused on integrating newer medicines into the treatment plan for people with early-stage disease. Dr. Hudis is a member of the breast committees of the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.
